Welcome to the lighthouse church!
We are so excited that you decided to visit our community! We want to take this opportunity to welcome you and tell you a little more about our vision.
First and foremost, we believe that we exist for the glory of God. The fourth chapter of Revelation gives us a beautiful picture of whats going on in the heavenly scene. There we find the saints and throngs of angels and all of heaven gathered around the throne worshipping God and saying, Worthy are you, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. {Revelation 4:11} Thats it! We have been created by God and we have been created for God. To this end, we place a high emphasis on growing in our love for God by dedicating time in our services for worship and bible study.
Additionally, we believe that we have been called by God to partner with Him on mission in this world. Therefore we look for ways to live out our faith missionaly in the community. So what does 'missional living' look like? Simply put, it looks a lot like Jesus. Jesus left the glories of heaven to come to this earth on a rescue mission. In an unparalleled act of humility that defies comprehension, God became a man. {Philippians 2:5-11} And as a man, Jesus showed us what it looks like to be on mission in this world. In Luke's gospel, Jesus summed up His mission with these words, 'For the Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost.' {Luke 19:10} We believe that to be on mission with Jesus means that we get to join Him in reaching out to those who are hurting in love with the gospel.
Finally, we believe that God has called us to participate in the community of believers. God has designed us in such a way that we werent made to do life on our own. And I think one of the main reasons we see all these hurting people walking around in the church today is because theyve failed to see their own need for fellowship in the community of other believers. Consequently, we place a high emphasis on gathering together regularly to share life together and we look for ways to reach out in love to those whom God brings into our lives.
We are glad you are here!!! Thank you for checking out what God is doing at our church. Please let us know if you have any questions or would like more information.
Statement of Faith
We Believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and the inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:21)
We Believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)
We Believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory. (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-13, Revelation 19:14-16)
We Believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace through faith alone are we saved. (John 3:16-19; John 5:24, Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5)
We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29)
We Believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28)
We Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18)
We Believe that we as Christians are examples of the love of God in this world. It is this (agape) love that we desire to possess and without which we have no right to call ourselves Christians. (I John 4:16-17)
